Help me live independently, work confidently and manage everyday life.

A directly employed Personal Assistant role supporting George, a disabled professional and wheelchair user based in LS15, Leeds.

The short version

This is not a generic agency care role.

You would be part of a small direct team, supporting one person in a clear, consistent and respectful way. The work involves personal care, daily living support, practical problem-solving and occasional support outside the home.

The role is suitable for someone kind, reliable and sensible who can communicate well, respect boundaries, and approach personal care with maturity and dignity.

What the work involves

The exact support needed varies day to day, but the role may include the following.

Personal care

Support with routines that help me start, end and manage the day properly.

  • Washing, dressing and getting ready.
  • Support with toileting and hygiene where needed.
  • Assistance with hoisting equipment after training.
  • Respectful support with intimate personal care.

Daily living

Practical help that keeps life running smoothly rather than chaotically.

  • Meal preparation, drinks and light household tasks.
  • Helping keep routines, supplies and tasks organised.
  • Occasional errands and practical admin support.
  • Being proactive without taking over.

Work and social support

Occasional support beyond the home, depending on the day and plan.

  • Support at my office in Leeds city centre where needed.
  • Assistance getting to appointments, social plans or work-related events.
  • Accompanying me on business trips, and potentially holidays or other travel where agreed in advance.
  • Helping with travel, bags, doors and practical accessibility issues.

Shifts and opportunities

There are full-time, part-time and flexible opportunities available as the team develops.

Core weekday work

There may be regular weekday hours for someone looking for more consistent work as part of the core PA team.

  • Suitable for someone looking for a more substantial role.
  • Planned shifts where possible.
  • Clear routines and expectations.

Part-time, weekend and bank work

There will also be opportunities for people who want smaller numbers of hours, weekend shifts, or bank-style cover.

  • Potentially suitable for students.
  • Weekend and evening availability is useful.
  • Good option for gaining meaningful practical care experience.
